Want to save money? Then invest in a second filter cartridge. Trust me.

In my experience as a pool technician, I've seen pool filter cartridges last an extra 50% using this method.

Usually, when your filter cartridge is dirty (ideally once a month or so), you hose it out until it's nice and clean and whack it back in.

But have you ever heard of cartridge cleaner?

Magical stuff!

So here what you do... get a container that fits half of your cartridge. Fill it with water and this cartridge cleaner potion, dump in the cartridge and soak for a few days. Turn it over and soak the other half for another few days. Then give it another hose-down (otherwise your pool might get a bit sudsy). Bung it back into the filter and you're good to go!

But hang on... that's gonna take days! And I can't run my pool system without a filter!

Aaaand that's why you need a second filter cartridge.

Why? Elementary, my dear Watson! Bung the second cartridge in while your giving the first one a good soak, then each month you can swap them over. It will save you a bunch!
